How we check the receipts
Weird is fun. Made-up is not. Every revenue number on this site comes from a page we actually opened, and we tell you what kind of proof it is.
The three kinds of proof
- Verified via payment provider (52 examples). From TrustMRR, which reads revenue directly from the business's payment provider (such as Stripe) through an API. This is the strongest proof we have.
- Founder-reported (6 examples). The founder said it publicly, for example in an Indie Hackers post, an interview, a press release or their own revenue profile. We quote the claim, but nobody audited it.
- Press / third-party report (11 examples). A journalist or another third party reported it, for example TechCrunch, CNBC or Fortune. Where the article says the figure couldn't be independently confirmed, so do we.
- No proof yet (4 ideas). A weird idea we like but couldn't find checkable revenue for. Treat it as a hypothesis.
Rules
- Every number links to its source. Last checked 2026-10-15.
- Revenue changes daily. Verified figures show "last 30 days" and "all-time" as of the check date.
- We skip third-party revenue estimates (traffic-based guesses), anonymous claims we can't trace, and businesses where AI isn't central.
- We leave out gambling, cheating tools and anything built to fool detectors, however much money it makes.
What's an estimate
Startup cost, difficulty, time to first dollar and no-code friendliness are our editorial estimates for a solo builder starting today, not facts about the example businesses.
